Red wine-inspired drugs?
Yes, Harvard University scientists led by pathologist David Sinclair, cofounder of Sirtris, found a molecule in red wine which will slow aging in humans. The compound is called Resveratrol and has been shown to slow aging in worms, flies, and mice. Could this be the Fountain of Youth?
GlaxoSmithKline is the world's second largest pharmaceutical company recently paid $720 million for Sirtris.
