Can Google Flu Trends prevent future outbreaks?
Google now offer Flu Trends. By using search terms Google able to give good indicators of flu activity in the United States or anywhere around the world. For example, Google Search Data show there are more flu-related searches during flu season, more allergy-related searches during allergy season, and more sunburn-related searches during the summer. Also according to Google, the search data to estimate flu activity in your state up to two weeks faster than traditional systems.
