"drive-by downloading"?

Yes! Researcher found "drive-by downloading" on more than 6,500 websites hosting malicious code that redirected nearly 340,000 visitors to malicious sites. When a user visits a hacked site during which time the website looks for vulnerabilities in the user's browser or computer.

When a weakness is detected, the site can easily install a 'keylogger', which is a mini application that takes note of keystrokes made on the computer in order to get hold of banking and credit card information. These personal financial information are then used to access the user's bank account.
